About the Bridgend Male Choir

The Bridgend Male Choir was established in August 1960 in South Wales, as the Bridgend Police Choir. The name was changed on the 1st May 1987 and this Bridgend male voice choir has been going strong ever since.

The Choir has a long history of competition successes, and can claim to be the only Welsh choir to have scored a remarkable double victory at the 1991 Concorso Internazionale Di Canto Corale, held in Verona. A further invitation to the festival in April 2003 resulted in an award of another silver cup, for the quality of the Choir's male voice singing.

The Bridgend Male Choir are also extremely proud that in the Welsh National Eisteddfod in Newport in 2004 they won first prize, and were presented with the Welsh Fusiliers Cup; an achievement that they repeated in 2006!

Bridgend Choir Repertoire & Performances

Visits abroad have expanded the Bridgend choir's repertoire in many languages. They include three visits to Bridgend's German twin town Langenau, two to Berlin, one to Canada, one to France, two to Jersey. two to Italy, a tour to Eire and most recently a trip to Spain in May of 2005. The Bridgend Male Choir are always interested in organising choir tours, so please do contact us if you would like to discuss possibilities of this Welsh Male choir visiting you.

The majority of the concerts the Bridgend Male Choir performs are in aid of deserving charities. The total amount raised through these choir concerts over the last 44 years amounts to many thousands of pounds, helping those less fortunate than ourselves. If you would like to discuss arranging a concert with the Bridgend Male Choir for your charity, please contact us.

The Bridgend choir is also available for a limited number of wedding bookings per year; again, please contact us to discuss your requirements. A number of CD's have been recorded by the choir, which you can listen to and order online on the CD page of this website.
