Media Officer, David Burt writes........

Opening with a visit to one of Wales’ premier destinations, the Celtic Manor Resort, Bridgend Male Choir was delighted to have been invited to sing a warm Welsh welcome to Waitrose managers from around the UK for their Annual Conference. The Choir was very well received with resounding applause for this early morning engagement. St David’s Day saw the Choir invited to Llanelli’s wonderful new cultural centre, Theatre Fwrnes, to perform with Cor Meibion Llanelli; cor merched, Parti’r Llwchwr and the hugely talented Three Welsh Tenors. Compere, Garry Owen added to the entertainment and the capacity audience of almost 600 were clearly there to enjoy themselves. The wonderful concert was finished with a great joint afterglow at the nearby Thomas Arms.

Next up are two private engagements – the first at Bridgend’s Oldcastle School, which choir had joined Bridgend Male Choir recently on the Sony Theatre Stage and the second, a wedding at Coity.

Chorister rehearsals currently include practice for the next “big” event on Friday, 4th April at Cowbridge Leisure Centre, when the choir takes part in “Mike Doyle in Concert, with Bridgend Male Choir” with guest, Jodi Bird. Tickets £15 (£12 concessions) are available from W G Davies, Newsagents, 38 High Street, Cowbridge & the News Shop, 11 Dunraven Place, Bridgend”
