Plans are well advanced for this year's "Anniversaries and Arias" Concert........
Each year, Cancer Research Wales and Bridgend Male Choir come together to put on a Gala Concert at a special venue to raise much needed funds for the Cancer Charity. The Bridgend Male Choir connection arose when the Choir adopted this Charity as the organisation to which it would give its principal support. The annual concerts have since gone from strength to strength.
This year’s Concert, “Anniversaries and Arias” takes place at St David’s Hall, Cardiff on Sunday, 8th March 2009 and as well as the Choir, features the wonderful operatic tenor, Dennis O’Neill and soprano, Laura Parfitt, plus the renowned BTM Band. The soloists will include in their performance tributes to Mansel Thomas and Arwel Hughes, as well as popular operatic pieces. The Concert will be compered again by Robin Jones.
Bridgend Male Choir Musical Director, John Jenkins, who has been hugely instrumental in the planning of each Concert to date, said that “he is very proud to be associated with such a good cause and humbled to be invited to contribute to the success achieved to date”. He went on to say, “If you only attend one concert in 2009, let it be this one, both for the quality of the content and the magnificent cause”.
