Some of the judges comments:
Builth: Compelling singing of great conviction. A terrific, energetic sound. This was a wonderful performance, WELL DONE – BRAVO!
Heilig: This had a lovely warmth to it. Good overall. Wonderful repertoire selection.
Singing in the Rain: Very well prepared with lots of attention to the detail in the score. The loud singing has a real joy that comes over well to the audience.
Our second concert was performed on Saturday evening at St. John’s Church St. Austell where our hosts were Mevagissey Male Choir. Some amazing music was performed by all the choirs who took part during the evening, ...especially Dagilelis Boys Choir from Lithuania whose performance was sensational. The afterglow and refreshments, provided by the guys from Mevagissey Male Choir, were held at The White Hart St. Austell where new friendships were struck up and a great time was had by all.
Four Lanes Male Choir were our hosts for our third concert on Sunday evening at St. Andrews Church Redruth where, in front of a packed church, we were treated to another extravaganza of music with choirs from the UK and abroad. The afterglow was held in the church hall where new friends were also made and we enjoyed a fine buffet provided by the ladies of Four Lanes Male Choir.Thank you to both our hosts for their warm welcome and hospitality.
We entered the competition on Saturday afternoon with another six amazing choirs and were very proud to receive an award for the best single performance in the over 41 voices category with a rousing rendition of the famous Welsh hymn Builth. The choir would like to say thank you to our wonderful Musical team of Ryan Wood and Stephanie Bailey, the support of Scott Williams organist and Stewart Roberts, MD of Pendyrus Male Choir for the time and effort they put in to enable us to achieve the level of music we performed at the festival.
