Having held Choir Practice at the South Wales Police Sports & Social Club, Waterton for more than 40 years, rebuilding plans necessitated the Bridgend Male Choir’s move into Town, where a welcome was provided by Hermon Chapel in Nolton Street with the use of its facilities. Bridgend Athletic RFC provided the later “social” surroundings and another excellent welcome. The Choir is extremely grateful to both for stepping in and helping out. Growth in Choir numbers has resulted in a further move within recent weeks to the OCLP Club at Bryntirion, Bridgend which has the benefit of a concert hall with room and acoustics suitable for a Choir whose membership continues to grow. Potential new choristers are welcome to come along at 7 pm for Thursday weekly practice under the baton of Musical Director, John Jenkins and Associate Musical Director, Marcus Hopkin. The Choir is also fortunate to have the musical talents of Accompanists, Cheryl Jones, Rhiannon Williams and Marcus Hopkin at its disposal. Practice commences at 7.30 pm and ends two hours later. The Choir is grateful to the OCLP Club Committee and Steward for making it feel at home.
