THAT'S IT FOR ANOTHER YEAR – BRIDGEND MALE CHOIR ROUND-UP

Saturday 21 December 2013

Another successful year draws to a close........

Following their three nights at St Mary's on Ewenny Road, the Choir was delighted to have been invited to participate at a Christmas Service of Remembrance at St Crallo's Chapel, Coychurch Crematorium. To a full congregation, the sensitive choice of appropriate content and season's items were well received, as was the mince pies refreshment afterwards.

Next up was a visit to the High Corner Inn at Llanharan, where the Choir was also returning for a second year, as well as the numerous visits returning from engagements. Singing carols to a packed house, the atmosphere was superb with wonderful female voices accompanying. It was little surprise to learn that enjoying their Christmas Dinners were lady choristers from Tonyrefail & Pencoed, many of whom joined in.

With the year drawing to a close, the chorally busy month of December was concluded with a Wedding at St Mary's Parish Church, Coity and an outing for the Singing Santa’s!.The latter is an annual occasion when a number of choristers dressed in Santa costumes sing in support of their Rotary Club of Bridgend friends. Visits to a number of hotels & restaurants are an opportunity for hard working Rotarians to collect for local charities – and now a well-earned rest.

All that's left is to wish all connected with choirs, rotary clubs, other charity fund-raisers and their thousands of supporters every good wish for a prosperous and in-tune new year!
