What a privilege it was to be in the capacity audience to witness a joyful and uplifting evening at St. Mary’s R.C. Church on 6th December. The jewel in Bridgend’s crown, Bridgend Male Choir and the enthusiastic and spirited St. Mary’s Primary School Choir joined forces to provide us with a concert that filled us all with festive joy. We sang carols and enjoyed traditional Christmas classic Songs along with favourites such as Myfanwy, Builth, Calon Lan and White Christmas. Dr. Peter Morgan reminded us of a rich experience of Christmas’s past with a superb reading of Dylan Thomas, prose poem, ‘A child’s Christmas in Wales’. Stewart Roberts delighted us with two Cello solos which added to the atmosphere of the Annual Friendship Concert. Both choirs earned a well deserved standing ovation. Don’t miss this event next year. It was a wonderful way to showcase local talent and celebrate festive and seasonal spirit. We left with our hearts full and wanting more. Well done to all involved. You are a credit to our fine town, feeling very proud.
