Update by David T Burt
Three worthy Charities are to benefit in the coming weeks from Concerts featuring the popular Bridgend Male Choir.
The Shropshire & Worcestershire Air Ambulance Trust is the first to benefit when the Choir joins Craig Yates, Baritone and Jennifer Walker, Soprano at Shrewsbury Music Hall on February 24th. It’s too late for tickets for this one, which was sold out before Christmas.
Tickets are still currently available for a Concert jointly promoted by Cancer Research Wales and Bridgend Male Choir on the 2nd March at St David’s Hall, Cardiff, commencing at 7.30 pm. The St David’s Festival Gala Concert presented by the BBC’s Huw Edwards features Catrin Finch: Harp; Jennifer Walker: Soprano and the Bedwas Trethomas & Machen (BTM) Band. There is a distinctive Welsh flavour featuring the work of Ivor Novello and Choir Patron, Karl Jenkins, as well as the inclusion of songs made popular by Shirley Bassey, Katherine Jenkins, Tom Jones and Bryn Terfel. Come to this one and you can sing along to Cwm Rhondda, Calon Lan and other Welsh favourites. Tickets priced at £15, £12 and £10 are available from the Box Office: 029 2087 8444.
Finally, the Charity, Hope and Aid Direct will be supported on the 9th March with a Concert at Cowbridge Leisure Centre, commencing at 7 pm. The specific aim of this Concert is to raise funds to transport charitable goods by truck to the Balkans. For further ticket information, please contact Choir Secretary, Gareth Reese on 01656 862037.
