SPECTACULAR WEDDING EXPERIENCE

Friday 24 May 2013

Bridgend Male Choir achieved another first while preparing to sing at the wedding of Verity Spencer and Wayne Munden at Tunnels Beach, Bath Place, Ilfracombe

As the name suggests, the venue was accessed via a tunnel. The achievement was setting a new and unique record for a male choir by tolerating a wind-tunnel test with wind speeds close to 50 kilometres per hour prior to entering the wedding venue. Unseasonable weather conditions on the day meant that a northerly wind, direct from the Arctic, was funnelled straight into the tunnel and into the faces of the waiting choristers.

The happy couple's wish was that their guests would be taken unawares by the appearance of the choir. This aim was fully achieved and, despite the cold wind, the choir then entertained the party to a selection of popular items and choir classics. The audience were further delighted by a rendition of MyFavourite Things by choir MD, Rhiannon Williams Hale, who then combined with choir accompanist, Stephanie Bailey to sing Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen.

Afterwards, the choir were invited to join the party for drinks in the bar, where everyone was soon warmed up by the inevitable informal sing-song which included contributions from wedding guests as well as choristers.

The Choir wish Wayne & Verity every future happiness together.
