RECENT EVENTS & IMMINENT FOTHCOMING ATTRACTIONS

In a very busy time for the Choir, Bridgend Male Choir has recently been involved in & has planned:   


Helping to welcome home Olympic Cycling Road Race Gold Medalist, Nicole Cooke to her home village of Wick. Choristers were delighted to have the opportunity to entertain a large crowd and mark the tremendous achievement of the Queen of the roads. Well done Nicole and good luck with the World Championships this week.   

Professional engagement for Sky Television at the Wales vs. Azerbaijan football international at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, as part of the World Cup Qualifiers. On this occasion the Choir was conducted by Haydn James of London Welsh MVC. Choristers wish John Toshack’s Welsh squad every success.   

Support for Shan Cothi, Soprano and Vice President of the Bridgend Male Choir, this time on the occasion of her successful horseback ride from north to south Wales. Shan was riding to raise awareness for the work of the cancer charity, Amser Justin Time, which ride ended with choristers singing a welcome at Ogmore Village.   

Formal Concert for the Margam Abbey Music Foundation, appearing alongside Helen-Jane Howells, 2008 winner of the Russell Sheppard Memorial Foundation – a great success. Good luck Helen-Jane for your future success.   

On Saturday next, 27th September, the Choir will be singing at the Cenotaph as part of the Bridgend Festival. It wishes the organisers every success and the good crowds present last year.   

The following Saturday, 4th October, choristers make the journey to Surrey’s, Leatherhead Parish Church to participate in its Harvest Festival, as part of the Mole Valley’s Arts Alive Programme.   

The Choir’s Annual Concert is at 7 pm on Friday, 10th October at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Bridgend. It will feature Soprano, Laura Parfitt and fresh from its National television success, Only Men Aloud’s Baritone & Wales 2nd Most Sexiest Man (a recent poll), Craig Yates.
