ANOTHER ENJOYABLE VISIT TO DORSET

Thursday 29 September 2011

Thanks to Geraint Hopkins for this report.......

St Michael the Archangel Church is old, very old. In fact it is 900 years old but not as old as the ammonites and other fossils that lay around the gem of the Dorset coast, Lyme Regis. Bridgend Male Choir was making its third visit in four years as part of the Arts Fest and in aid of Lyme Regis Organ Appeal.

With a near full audience filled with locals and holiday makers in this small and delightful Church on a Sunday afternoon, the Choir's sparkling performance was warmly received. Conducted by John Jenkins and encouraged by the mistress of the 88’s Laura Smith on piano and Scott Williams on the newly restored organ, the Choir's achievement was impressive. With songs of love; operatic songs; songs from the shows and songs traditional, there was something for everyone. Moreover, after the final chord, the Choir left the performance with the feel good factor knowing that it was a concert well delivered and well received.
