BRIDGEND MALE CHOIR NEWS ROUND-UP

Thursday 14 May 2015

June engagements for the local press.......

The Choir’s first engagement in June is on Sunday, 7th at 1.00 pm when it sings in the Marquee at Ogmore Village at the conclusion of  “Mair’s Walk”. The Walk this year is led by Athlete, Jamie Baulch, with sponsorship as usual supporting Cancer research at Velindre Hospital.

Choristers next come together at All Saints Church, Penyfai on the 12th supporting a proud chorister grand-dad, Brian Evans at his grand-daughter’s wedding service.

Next up is St. Asaph Cathedral on Saturday, 20th, when BMC will share a concert with the Trelawnyd Male Choir from the locality. This is in support of St Kentigern’s Hospice. Trelawnyd MVC enjoyed a great welcome at Bridgend last year and choristers are relishing their second visit to the UK’s smallest Cathedral.

Finally, choristers have accepted an invite to WRU Championship Club, Bridgend Athletic for an informal sing-along on Thursday, 25th. for three good reasons. It is the location for a weekly post Practice beer or two, where a welcome is always enjoyed; secondly, the Club’s very successful Junior Section is celebrating its 25th Birthday and finally, to help celebrate, the Club have attracted  International Rugby Referee, Nigel Owens to do some coaching with the Junior’s and participate in a Q & A session. Apparently he’s looking forward to joining in the singing!
