Bridgend Male Choir is indebted to its Patrons, President and Vice Presidents for the help which it receives. From time to time changes and additions take place....

Recent changes at the award willing Bridgend Male Choir see its President, Trevor Veasey, becoming enrolled as a Choir Patron, joining such illustrious names as Welsh composer, Karl Jenkins; entertainer Max Boyce and soprano & Radio Wales presenter, Shan Cothi amongst others. Local businessman, Trevor, has been at the helm of the Choir for the past six years as its President, his generosity and concert support, together with his wife, Julia, being appreciated by all concerned. He represents what is good about Welsh life, combining his love of rugby and singing, where he is also President of Bryncethin RFC. Always ready to support, he has toured regularly overseas with choristers.

He is succeeded as President by another local businessman, Paul Porter, JP, formerly a Choir Vice President who is from a musical family background and also enjoys Welsh choral singing. Paul is the principal of the well respected, Porters Estate Agents. Like his predecessor, Paul is very supportive of the Choir, being helpful in recent years with the success of the Annual Concert and currently as an invaluable link between author and publisher with the Choir’s new book to be released in the New Year to celebrate its 50th Birthday. As with Trevor and Julia, Paul is also ably supported by his wife, Lynne and it is pleasing that both couples are regularly seen together at concerts. Entering its “Golden” year, Paul has a busy time ahead, apart from having two daughters getting married in the next three months!

Another of the Choir’s Vice Presidents is Bridgend Assembly Member and Counsel General, Carwyn Jones. A regular concert supporter, not only of Bridgend Male Choir, but also of others in the locality, choristers were delighted with his party election result and wish him every success in his new role as First Minister. Hopefully, he will still have time in his even busier schedule to enjoy his love of music.
