Yet another worthy cause supported by the Choir
Visitors to this St David’s Festival Concert will be entertained by leading soprano, Gwawr Edwards and the well known Bridgend Male Choir.
Welsh National Eisteddfod winner, Gwawr Edwards, enjoyed huge success winning three titles before going on to win the Blue Ribband in the Lieder Competition, the overall winner of all sections and champion of champions. Ceredigion born Gwawr carries on a fine musical tradition with many family members enjoying similar successful musical careers. Also a winner at the Urdd Eisteddfod, she has toured parts of the USA and is considered to be a singer with a huge future. The boys from Bridgend are very much looking forward to sharing the stage with her, before she joins Cor Meibion Aberystwyth at Llanidloes later this month and participates in the Aberaeron Bicentenary Celebration during the summer.
No strangers to Eisteddfod success themselves and fresh from St David’s Festival Concerts at Shrewsbury’s Music Hall and Cardiff’s, St David’s Hall, this visit to Cowbridge will bring to an end three similar events. The trio of Concerts has brought together much of what is good in Wales helping many hundreds of concertgoers to celebrate this great tradition. An interesting and varied programme is promised for the Choir’s first visit to Cowbridge in many years.
All proceeds from this Concert will go to a marvelous Charity, much more of which can be learned about at the Concert. Tickets can be obtained from Cowbridge Leisure Centre, The Bay Tree, Cowbridge, and Alan Beckwith on 01446 775836 at a cost of £7 and £5 or at the door, prior to the Concert.
