22 June 2018 - The following message from Anwen says everything about the Memorial Concert for David Thomas on the 8 June:
Dear Friends
I’ve had so much positive feedback from members of the audience at the Concert that you hosted in memory of David. My work colleagues and people from David’s work, who did not expect to enjoy themselves, were simply blown away by the spectacle and the sound. There really was something for everyone in the programme crafted by the talented musical directors.
Eleri, Heledd, Nick and Jen (David’s children) and I were honoured to be part of the musical extravaganza. You all have a fan club in North Wales. Stewart & Ryan, your invitation for choristers in the audience to join the massed choirs for the performance of Gwahoddiad touched the hearts of so many. It was an emotionally charged evening.
Donations and proceeds from ticket/programme sales are now in excess of £3,700. The ladies at the door did an amazing job and I am very grateful to them. Cardiomyopathy UK are overwhelmed by the generosity of so many contributors and would like to contact the Choirs, Beverly, Rhian, Ashley, accompanists & MDs to thank them directly for their invaluable support. With this in mind I’m writing to request addresses where the certificates/letters can be sent. Currently we’ve raised £7,320 for Cardiomyopathy UK, over half of this came from the Memorial Concert. I can’t thank you enough!
