ROTARY CHARITY CONCERT – WEDS 2 JULY 2008
BRACKLA TABERNACL, BRIDGEND
BRIDGEND MALE CHOIR & TREMAINS JUNIOR SCHOOL CHOIR
The Rotary Club of Bridgend was delighted to be involved with this Charity Concert, the proceeds of which will go to Y Bwythyn Cancer Care in conjunction with McMillan Nurses. We all know what valuable work they do in helping sufferers of this terrible disease and their families. We are grateful to Bridgend Male Choir for fitting us into their busy schedule. They have a fine reputation and always put on a splendid performance – and they excelled in giving us a preview of their Eisteddfod competition entry and in particular their first performance in their rendition of “Y Greadigaeth” (Willy Richter). The evening was compered very ably by Gareth Davies, who has a knack of making all parties involved. Conductor John Jenkins also created audience participation and his explanatory introductions made the evening very enjoyable (his conducting was pretty good too!). Rhiannon Williams-Hale the accompanist was absolutely superb, an entertainer in her own right. We therefore extend our best wishes to the Bridgend Male Choir in their competitive entry towards their “triple” win??? And thank them again most sincerely.
