SOUTHERNDOWN GOLF CLUB CAROL CONCERT & A DAY AT THE RACES

Saturday 19 December 2015

Last night's concert in a packed Golf Club lounge was hailed a success by all who attended - writes Dave Burt.

"Cymanfa" style carol singing with verses sung by segments of the audience & Choir were a definite hit. Popular carols & others less well know, but equally enjoyable were included. Highlights were tenor, Ken James' solo and Rhiannon & Stephanie's duet and the humour from compere, Gareth Davies. Proceeds of the evening were for Bridgend Carers, the designated charity of this year’s Golf Club Captain.

The Choir can next be seen on Sunday, 27th December at the Coral Welsh Grand National on Chepstow Racecourse where they will entertain from the Parade Ring. If you are not going, look out for them on Channel 4 TV, which is covering the event. Also making appearances at the Races are the Singing Choir of Chepstow; Only Men Aloud and soprano, Rebecca Evans.

All that remains is for the Choristers & Music Team to wish their many friends and supporters their good wishes for a happy, peaceful & musical Christmas and New Year!
