AUSTRIA’S POSTCHOR KLAGENFURT IS TO APPEAR AT BETHLEHEM CHURCH LIFE CENTRE AT 7.00 PM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 13TH.
Founded in 1985, the Klagenfurt Male Choir has performed all around the World including most recently Canada and South Africa as well as almost all European Countries. Wales is missing off its performance venue list & Bridgend Male Choir and the Bethlehem Church Life Centre are delighted to host the visitors. It is the visitors’ only concert in the UK on this visit.
The Postchor has recorded 6 CDs to date and made many radio and television appearances. It also hosts its own well known Herbskoncert in Austria, where it has a tradition of inviting choirs from around the World. Bridgend Male Choir has responded positively to an invite to appear in September 2009.
The Choir was set up by a group of postal service employees, although half is now made up of other occupations. The Choir has been active in supporting the charity “Licht ins Dunkel” – “Light in the Darkness” to support handicapped children & their parents, as well as supporting a home for the elderly. The Choir remains independent thanks to sponsoring companies and some 500 fans who attend concerts, buy CDs and even pay a membership fee!
At Cefn Cribwr, both Choirs will be singing selections from their extensive repertoires, to include those items which have proved popular with audiences at home and overseas.
